inspiration/kidspiration

Graphic organizers are so nice to help students follow what is the content of the class and give them a new way to follow. I have wanted to use them in student teaching and other teaching experiences but I was never taught how to make one. Now that I have learned the Inspiration and Kidspiration programs I am eager to use them in teaching. I only wish I had learned about them before.

I think Inspiration and Kidspiration software are really great tools for creating graphic organizers. Unfortunately, I've never been a fan of the graphic organizer. As a student, I always found them to be busy-work. As a teacher, I'm not sure how boxes help my students to organize thoughts. I'm sure they really are helpful...it'd be great if there were a course on creating graphic organizers and instructing students on how to use them! Either way, this software is really great for creating them

I think graphic organizers are a great tool to use as a teacher, especially for visual learners. However, after completing the inspiration assignment I don't have too many good things to say about the program. I have used it in the past once before and noticed the same thing. I didn't think it was user-friendly and it's very hard to get use to. I had to keep deleting things and starting over. I would much rather make a graphic organizer in microsoft word using text boxes. But maybe that's just me =) Either way, graphic organizers are great tools I just wish I liked the program better.
